Growth is life, growth is purpose; growth is why we are here. It comes in many forms, and also has many misinterpretations. Without challenges there is no growth, without problems and uncertainty there is no growth. From these things we learn and become stronger. Without them life would not be life.
Through appreciating this you can develop true peace. The mind may want to label and complain about particular situations, saying you’d rather not have to deal with them; but a deeper part of you know they are all part of the bigger picture of your own development.
When people talk about growth today, a lot are referring to economic growth. It seems to be an assumption that the more economic growth there is the better things will be, however this is deeply flawed as many studies have shown. The growth of a person is far different than the growth of a man made concept like GDP. Nor is growth the accumulation of as many different objects or experiences as possible. You cannot add to who you are. It does not follow that the more you ‘own’, the more places you’ve been to or the more people you’ve met, the more you’ve grown. Of course these things can contribute to growth, but it’s not like filling a box with as many things as possible.

When people talk about a ‘New World Order’ and how humanity is controlled by an evil few, I think they are missing something. It’s not the case that we can’t be free (in the truest sense) until we somehow depose this regime. We always have a choice, no matter how hard it may be. When you look at it from the perspective of true growth, you see the purpose. I have heard theories that our deeper being has chosen to live on this planet at this time, knowing fully about the challenges and limitations we’d face. This certainly resonates with me.
